Hot dogs are always a hit for any cookout, tailgate party or gathering with friends and family. I'm sharing some tips for making a fun charcuterie board for epic hot dogs that will totally steal the show.
What is a charcuterie board?
Charcuterie is generally a selection of meats to serve for entertaining and parties displayed on a serving board or platter. These days folks are making charcuterie boards featuring everything imaginable. This Hot Dog Charcuterie Board is super easy to put together and a great way to serve up a summertime favorite.
How to Make a Hot Dog Charcuterie Board:
Arrange grilled hot dogs and smoked sausages in buns around the board in groups of 3-4. We used a selection of Petit Jean Meats Jumbo Grillers, Red Polish Sausage and Smoked Sausage Hot Links.
Place toppings in small bowls with serving spoons and knives.
Favorite toppings can include: Creamy Coleslaw, pickle relish, candied jalapenos, crispy Petit Jean Hickory Smoked Bacon, diced red onion, and diced pineapple.
Shredded cheese is a great addition, we like Cheese N Garlic, Cheese N Hot Pepper, and Smoked Cheddar. Be sure to include mustard, ketchup, and barbecue sauce.
Get creative, adding unexpected ingredients like chopped pineapple or kimchi to keep things interesting.
How to Grill Hot Dogs:
Hot dogs cook quickly. Add your hot dogs over a low fire and turn often. Keep an eye on them, they will burn easily. When hot dogs start to expand and sizzle, they are done. Move them over to indirect heat until you are ready to serve.
Making a charcuterie board is perfect for any backyard cookout or gathering with friends and family. Add your favorite toppings and some grilled hot dogs and it's guaranteed to please a hungry crowd.
