For your next special occasion, make that special someone a bouquet of Bacon Roses. They are fragrant (mmmm bacon) and edible!
Petit Jean Hickory Smoked Bacon (we used 12 slices to make 1 dozen roses)
Drill and drill bit
Rose stems (and filler)
Vase of choice (and filler)
1.) Drill holes in mini-muffin pan. We did three to ensure proper drainage.
2.) Roll each bacon strip tightly starting with the fattest end and insert into mini-muffin tin.
3.) Sit mini-muffin pan onto broiler pan (so that the grease will drain into the broiler pan) and bake in oven at 375 degrees for 30-45 minutes.
4.) Pull tops off of the stems and disassemble the flowers. Place the bottom green part of the flower back onto the empty stem and pull down so that the top of the stem is exposed.
5.) Arrange your stems in vase as desired.
6.) When bacon is done, let cool on a paper towel. Place the cooled bacon buds onto the exposed stems.
